George Anthony Garrison papers, 1942-2005.

The collection includes papers and correspondence, 1942-2005, pertaining to the Norwich University Board of Fellows, Friends of the Norwich University Library, the Partridge Society, the carillon, scholarships, the Alumni Association, Garrison's military service, the class of 1942's 50th reunion in 1992, and personal correspondence with family and friends. Also included are photographs, 1940s-1990s, of Ritchie Garrison (George's brother), Randy Philbrook, Norwich events and campus, band, cadets, 1942 parade and the 1983 Board of Fellows. There are also Garrison's commissions in the U. S. Army Reserve, 1954 (major) and 1961 (lt.col.) (in OSD2.3)

George Garrison of Waban, MA, graduated with the Norwich University Class of 1942. He was a member of Theta Chi, Skull and Swords and the Pegasus Players. He served in World War II as a cavalry officer. He worked for the Norton Company in Massachusetts for twenty-seven years and remained very active in Norwich affairs, serving on the Board of Fellows and Friends of the Library for many years.
